CCSA Congratulates 4 Senior Players On Their College Acceptance

CCSA would like to congratulate the following four seniors from the 2001 Boys Cyclones team. These players will continue their soccer careers in college after growing up playing for the Cape Coral Soccer Association:

Robert Quintanilla is graduating from Mariner High School. He will be attending St. Thomas University in Miami, Florida this fall.

Marvin Avilez is graduating from Mariner High School and will be going to St. Thomas University in Miami, Florida to study Political Science.

John Aguirre is graduating from Mariner High School and will be going to St. Mary of the Woods in Terra Haute, Indiana to study Business Management.

Matthew Downey is graduating from Ida Baker High School and will be going to Lynn University in Boca Raton, Florida to study Political Science and Criminal Justice.

Marvin Avilez and Matthew Downey both started in the CCSA rec program in 2007 and moved to the Cyclones program at U10. Robert Quintanilla started in rec in 2010 as a U10 player and moved to the Cyclones in 2016, the same year that John Franco joined the club as a Cyclone.

The team participated in the FSL and FSPL leagues this season, and also went to the Disney Showcase and the CASL showcase tournament in North Carolina, which has afforded them as well as the other players on the team with opportunities to be seen by college scouts and receive scholarship offers.

Coach Bajro is proud of these players as well as his other seniors who are graduating and thankful for the opportunity to guide and develop them as players and young men.

We thank these young men for their time with CCSA and look forward to seeing their accomplishments at the collegiate level next year.
